I need a new home because I am not getting along with other dogs in my home. I am being fostered in Nampa, ID. I am a very sweet girl and try to please. I love being with people, getting pet and snuggling on the couch. I have come a long way in the last 4 years ..... I spent the first 4 years of my life as a puppy mill breeder dog, until I was finally rescued. I was not in good shape and very frightened of everything. For months I would not come near my human, I made big circles around the yard to avoid human contact. But with time I learned that not all humans are bad and now love their company. And I just LOVE to run in the yard, and do zoomies! It has only been in the last year that I have learned how to play ..... I guess you could call me a very late bloomer. I now enjoy dog toys but will tear them up if I feel like it! I have a very calm demeanor and I like routine. I sleep in my kennel at night, in a round calming bed. I am house trained however will not tell you when I need to go potty so a regular schedule to be let outside is necessary. I have never used a doggie door. The last 4 years I have lived with other dogs and cats, but I have become dog selective and at this point I need to be in a home as an only pet, and with no children. I would do best in a quiet home with a retired lady or couple, or someone who works from home. I have adapted to life in a home pretty well but still have quirks so someone with lots of patience and understanding would be best. I have never been around children but sudden movements and loud noises frighten me and make me skittish. All our dogs are spayed/neutered (if six months and older), up to date on rabies and distemper, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption. MABTR requires a fenced in area from families who own their home, however we DO adopt to apartment complexes and communities where fences are not permitted due to leases and covenants. In these cases a leash law must be enforced. We do not accept invisible fencing. MABTR only adopts to families residing in NE, CO, MO, KS, IA, WY, SD, ND, ID, UT, MT, MN, and NW AR due to the lack of volunteer support in other states, no exception even if you are willing to drive.
