I am being fostered in Topeka, KS I need a home with no other pets, no small children, and a fenced in area An experienced pet owner also would be great. I love being right by my human constantly. I do best with a small family. I have learned better manners at my foster home. I have learned to trust my foster mom who I will listen to and do anything she ask from me. I need a person that will not mind me being on the furniture and under your covers. I do not like to be pushed or pulled, I get defensive. I will however listen to instructions and move when asked Here's a little more about me: Housetrained? yes but I need you to take me out with you. Leash-trained? working on it. Rides well in car? oh yes but I’d love to be in your lap because it’s a little scary. Good with other dogs? No, I live with dogs that leave me alone. Good with cats? No. Good with young children? Older is preferred Good with strangers? I’ll bark like crazy if they come on our property at first but warm up quickly, but I’m fine meeting them elsewhere. Shy or confident? All our dogs are spayed/neutered (if six months and older), up to date on rabies and distemper, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption. MABTR requires a fenced in area from families who own their home, however we DO adopt to apartment complexes and communities where fences are not permitted due to leases and covenants. In these cases a leash law must be enforced. We do not accept invisible fencing. MABTR only adopts to families residing in NE, CO, MO, KS, IA, WY, SD, ND, ID, UT, MT, MN, and NW AR due to the lack of volunteer support in other states, no exception even if you are willing to drive.
