The Chausie is a tall, long-legged cat that traces back to crosses between the Asian jungle cat and domestic breeds like the Abyssinian. The Chausie's lean build, large high-set ears and short black, ticked or grizzled tabby coat give it a wild look, though cats several generations removed from the jungle cat are fully domestic.
Most are described as intelligent, playful and very active, and many dislike being alone. Some have sensitive stomachs, and early-generation hybrids can be more demanding. In Philly, that energy plays out in rowhouse stairwells and front windows, so a home with sturdy cat trees and daily play suits them well. Each Chausie is different, and breed alone doesn't decide a cat's personality.
