Despite all odds, Valor managed to make it to me in Vermont where I am now tasked with the quest to find him an exceptional home where he will never again live in pain, fear, or turmoil. At just 4.5 months old he was stabbed in the chest (missing his heart by mere centimeters), and lacerated on his front leg by his previous owner who is a known felon. He was then left overnight on his chain hooked under a car. I was contacted late that night by my dear friend, and rescue partner in Texas telling me of what happened. She asking me if I was willing to help this angel. You all know what my answer was. Against all odds, he made it through the night, and miraculously she was able to coordinate his surrender first thing in the morning. He went right into surgery, receiving all of the necessary care and IV antibiotics. No expense was spared. He had his staples removed about a week and half ago, and made it up to me last Sunday. Despite everything, this puppy remains the light of this world. He is such a kind soul. You would never know that he’s gone through so much trauma. He is exceptionally good natured, and loves every human and every animal he meets. He has a zest for life that is contagious! He will play for hours and hours with the other dogs, or humans willing. Valor is a lover not a fighter! He doesn’t have a prey driven bone in his body. He’s remarkably well behaved for being a puppy and is 90% house trained. Definitely at least a stage 8 clinger. He prefers to be the little spoon. Excellent off leash! He’s very easy to train as he’s food motivated and quite intelligent. He loves to go for rides in the vehicle and excels in new environments. He’s still a little gangly with some pretty tall legs to grow into, and ears that don’t yet fit his face, but it’s part of his endearment. You can be sure that this pup has angel wings attached on all levels. Valor will go far in life, and he deserves to. He survived for a reason and I’m confident he will change lives with his time here on Earth. He is looking for an exceptional home — a home that will shower him with kindness for the rest of his life and help him overcome his past traumas. Someone who will always put him first, and show him a world of kindness. He is looking for a bed to sleep on next to his human, a fire to cozy up to in the winters, dogs to play with, animals to be his siblings, and endless outdoor adventures. He would be an exception family, farm, companion, or emotional support dog. Valor survived against all odds. He has the rest of his life now to be showered in goodness.
