About Ember

Ember is a sweet 3-year-old female black lab mix who joined the rescue program as a stray from out of state. Weighing 56 pounds, she has a gentle demeanor and takes about 30 minutes to warm up to new people, earning belly rubs and affection once she feels comfortable. Ember enjoys trips to the dog park and gets along well with other dogs and cats in her foster home. Though she has a playful side—especially when tugging with larger dogs in her previous foster home—Ember tends to focus on companionship over toys. She has been great with respectful children, ages 8 and up, but her occasional jumping to greet means she’d do best with kids who can handle her energy. Housebroken and understanding basic commands, Ember prefers to lounge on the couch and even loves snuggling in bed if given the chance. She rides well in the car and walks nicely on a leash. While initially needing crating, she quickly earned the freedom of her foster home. Perfect for someone looking for a loyal companion, Ember thrives in a home where someone is around frequently, or ideally, with a playful dog. As part of her adoption, the heartworm treatment she received is not an ongoing issue, though a recheck will be needed in six months. Ember is spayed and up to date on vaccinations. The adoption fee is waived, so you can bring this lovely girl home with just a call to 651-771-5662. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and let’s get started.
