Rockey is a resilient, medium-sized Pit Bull Terrier/Black Labrador Retriever mix with plenty of personality. Surrendered for food aggression concerns, he never displayed this behavior after some time to settle and decompress. In his foster home, Rockey has been respectful with food, gets along comfortably with two female dogs and three cats, and adores people. He’s fully house trained with no accidents and usually sleeps through the night on his dog bed. Walks are an adventure for him—occasionally he’ll pull, but he doesn’t react badly to other dogs. Rockey doesn’t like his feet being touched, but often wants to rest his paws on people, so keeping up with nail trims may require patience. He’s still learning to relax in his kennel, improving steadily, and he does particularly well when it’s covered. For car rides, kenneling works best. Off leash isn’t an option—he’ll follow his nose and wander—so supervision or a fenced yard is necessary. Overall, Rockey is affectionate, attentive, and eager to become someone’s loyal companion.
