About Jerry

Jerry is seeking a loving home through foster or adoption in Texas. At about nine years old, he weighs around 68 pounds and has an uplifting journey filled with rescue and second chances. Originally saved six years ago, Jerry found himself in an animal shelter after his owners divorced and abandoned him. Thankfully, another rescue identified his paperwork at the shelter and contacted Lucky Lab since he had been one of our beloved pets. A remarkable twist of fate occurred when an Austin dog daycare recognized Jerry and immediately came to pick him up. Now he’s back with friends, both human and canine, and ready to find a forever family. Jerry is known for being a staff favorite at his daycare, as he’s friendly and loves to play fetch. His previous owners reported that he’s affectionate and adapts well to his environment—ready to play when it’s fun time and to relax when it’s downtime. He has a solid level of obedience thanks to a two-week training program, but his skills require positive reinforcement to maintain. While he walks nicely on a leash, he isn’t fond of car rides and is likely to bark at strangers initially, but he calms down in a safe setting. Jerry loves kids, though supervision is needed with little ones because his enthusiasm can lead to some excited jumps. He prefers not to be around cats and has shown a tendency to chase them. Jerry has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. This affectionate pup deserves a true second chance at happiness. Could you be his new best friend? Click apply to start the adoption process.
