About Merle
Meet Merle! This sweet girl is more than just her stunning gray and black markings. When she arrived at the rescue, we couldn't decide on a proper name, so she got the nickname "Merle," which just stuck. Now, she deserves a family who can give her a permanent name and a loving home. Merle came to us in tough shape, having been dumped and running the streets. Despite being skittish due to her past, sheβs gentle and only wishes for safety. She loves dogs and has a special affinity for young, playful companions. Whether it's sprinting around the yard or wrestling on the couch, Merle thrives in their company. While she's making progress toward being comfortable with people, Merle is still quite timid. She prefers the company of her furry friends and curls up next to them rather than seeking out human companionship. With lots of patience and understanding, she will open up more over time. Merle is still learning to navigate the outside world; therefore, she needs a safe environment with a securely fenced yard. She requires a slow approach while on a leash and would do best in a home with just adults or teenagers. Her ideal family would include another young, playful dog to help her gain confidence. At about 35 lbs right now, she is still growing and should reach around 40 lbs. Merle is a young girl at just about a year old; she is already spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. The adoption fee is $400, and she is located in Sarasota, FL. A wonderful future awaits her with the right family. Click apply to start the adoption process.
