About Black Widow

Meet Black Widow! She’s a ten-year-old Chihuahua who has recently bounced back from some serious surgery after arriving in our care. Originally, complications with her hernias caused some internal bleeding, but a successful operation saw her spleen removed and now she’s back to her zooming self. Black Widow enjoys soaking up the sun and snacking, often found curled up on the couch next to her favorite person. She’ll gladly stay in her crate, as long as it’s near you. However, she prefers companionship and can express her feelings with a bit of crying or howling when left alone. A home where someone is around often would be ideal, and she might appreciate joining you on errands or vacations. She’s shown comfort around other dogs during playtime and while roaming around the house, though she can growl when food, her crate, or her cherished couch spot are approached. Getting accustomed to a leash is a work in progress, but we believe she’ll relish daily walks once she gets the hang of it. With a consistent potty schedule, she does well outside, but may select an indoor rug if left too long.
