Meet Cali, an energetic and fun-loving companion who was named after the beauty of California's state and national parks. Around 6 months old and fixing to be around 35 lbs. when full grown, she is a high-energy player who loves all toys and thrives on outdoor adventures, whether rain or shine. Because she has plenty of enthusiasm to share, she will do best with an active adopter who can keep her moving and engaged. Cali is making great progress with her house training. She lets you know when she needs to go outside by pacing by the back door, though she doesn't give a long warning, so you'll want to watch for her quick cues! She sleeps soundly in her crate at night, though she does sometimes bark a little bit overall, which is something her foster home is actively helping her work on. She gets along wonderfully with all other dogs and adores people, being completely comfortable with being handled anywhere. She can be a bit mouthy during play, which younger children might not quite understand yet, so her ideal home will be ready to work with Cali and the kids together on her manners. With a little continued guidance, Cali is sure to be an incredible addition to an active family looking for a joyful, playful buddy! Interested in meeting this dog? Visit our website (https://www.sccrescue.org/) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend. We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog. Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess. Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area.
