About Shelby
Meet Shelby, a 10-year-old spayed Carolina Dog with a stunning red coat that gives her a striking resemblance to a fox. Named after the legendary creator of the 1962 Shelby Cobra, this mixed-breed beauty carries the gentleness often associated with Carolina dogs, making her an ideal companion. Although Shelby has faced a few hardships in her past, she's slowly learning to embrace love and trust again. Volunteers share that she's sweet and tender, but a bit shy, especially around new people. Shelby has been carefully adjusting in her foster home where she gets along wonderfully with the resident cat. She's quiet, with only a few moments of outdoor chatter when interacting with neighboring dogs. Loud noises, particularly unexpected sneezes, can startle her, so a calm environment will be best for her. While she’s not interested in swimming, Shelby enjoys sunbathing and appreciates nutritious meals that include fruits and veggies, like carrots and watermelon. As she looks for a forever home, it’s essential for Shelby to meet any resident dogs to ensure compatibility. This lovely lady is ready to find a loving home where she can thrive in her golden years. Who has room in their heart for Shelby?
