About Wilmot
Meet Wilmot, a 6-year-old, 60-pound couch potato who will steal your spot on the sofa and your heart simultaneously. This affectionate boy came to the shelter as a stray, but he quickly bonds with people and adapts to home life. Wilmot is mostly house-trained and enjoys lounging nearby after short walks or a good belly rub session. With low-to-moderate energy, he thrives on about two 15โ20 minute walks a day, followed by nap time. Heโs incredibly food motivated and very smart, knowing commands like "sit" and "shake," and heโs currently perfecting "stay" and "lay down." On walks, he prefers a harness and will take his time sniffing, showing off his stubborn sniffer qualities. Wilmot loves belly rubs, cuddling, and playing with chew toys and puzzle toys. His curiosity about other dogs, cats, and kids remains untested, and he may be better suited to a home without small animals due to his interest in wildlife. His foster family describes him as lovable, lazy, and incredibly smart. Wilmot doesnโt chew things up or get destructive when left alone; heโs more likely to sleep and eagerly await your return. Heโs ready to be your loyal best friend in a calm, loving home where he can be spoiled with snacks, naps, and plenty of cuddles. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
