Meet adoptable Trudy (A572197) Trudy arrived as a stray from Huntsville just last week, but has not been reclaimed. She has now landed on our adoption floor where we are hopeful that she may not stay for long, but she does have some obstacles that need crossed in order to find the forever home she needs. The shelter environment has been a hard adjustment for Trudy, and she is what we call cage brave. Dogs who are kennel brave tend to present not so nicely when visitors stop by because they may do things like show their teeth, growl and jump on the fence at you. We ask that people take the time to understand that the shelter environment is not a place where dogs feel safe. They are constantly being introduced to unfamiliar experiences, smells and people, so it makes sense that they may be protective of their space. We ask that visitors looking to spend time with Trudy request a kennel attendant to help them take her into a meet and greet area or outside. We mean it when we say that Trudy is a completely different dog outside of her kennel. Trudy loves being outside. She will run and sniff our entire play yards all day if given the chance. Toys are cool with her and she is happy to chase after them if you'll throw them for her. Rope toys are fun for Trudy and she enjoys playing tug of war; which, she usually wins. She already knows the command sit, and will pretty much sit for everything. This pretty girl doesn't deserve to be overlooked due to kennel presentation.
