Goofy Meets Social Butterfly Meets Sweetheart- It's Layla! Layla comes to us as a concerned motorist noticed her walking alone along a VERY busy highway, then safely getting her in the car to bring her to us! She jumped right in!! They let us know how very sweet she was and we can tell you with all assuredness, that they were correct in that determination! SUPER sweet! She remained on her stray hold with us and sadly no family came for her and with no chip or ID, if she had one we had no way to reach out to them. So NOW, this precious girl is looking to change her status from ‘stray’ to ‘adopted’ and we need your help! Since she has been with us, she has been nothing but super happy always, a little nervous when walking into new areas of the shelter, but quick to acclimate! She also met a similar sized spayed female since arriving to us and this sweet girl just hunkered down to smell her new friend, and to oblige and let her new friend smell her – only to be interrupted now and then with an adorable burst of energy and zoom around. She is such the social girl and is completely precious. Please come meet this goofy, precious little social butterfly in person to see if she is meant to spend forever with your family! Please only consider adopting if you are sure you can promise forever- as Layla deserves only that! We are a first come, first served and in-person adoption center located at 430 Bristol Drive, Statesville, NC. Hours: Monday–Friday 12–5 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m.–2 p.m. Meet and greets with other dogs and children are always recommended. We don’t know how she does with cats and have no way to test for this. The 3 3 3 Rule for shelter pets: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to settle in 3 months to build trust Layla’s adoption fee is $80. All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines and preventatives. Adopters must establish veterinary care after adoption to maintain their new family member’s health and wellness.
