Behavior: this big boy is a little anxious at first but his personality started to shine within 2 hours outside of the stressful shelter environment. He immediately got along with our older dog and they’ve been great playmates. He does like to play rather rough though so something to keep in mind. Also has a tendency of stealing toys from our dog just because. Some separation anxiety is present but it is expressed in pacing around the house. No destruction or accidents when left alone. Gets along with: dogs dogs and more dogs! He loves greeting other dogs although he will whine and pull if on walk with him. He absolutely loves people and kids too. More importantly loves all the attention he can get. He does seem a little triggered by cats so be wary if there is a cat in the home. He may be fine either being the only dog or having a friend. Knows: sit, stay, lay down, paw, come, and other paw. Food: he’s very very food-motivated! He hasn’t been interested into getting anything on counters when left unattended. But keep this in mind when food is set on lower areas like coffee tables. Yes this includes coffee. With respect to his own food he gobbles it down fast so he may be best with a slow feeder. Toys: he likes bones but takes a higher interest in soft squeaky toys like lambchop. He will squash them until it’s broken then tear them up of course. Car rides: absolutely loves them. Every time I opened my car he would hop right in regardless if in the front or back. He also loves to stick his head out of the window. Sometimes whiny but tends to relax after several minutes. Other notes: he’s a huge derpy goofball. He loves belly rubs but when playing he likes to be mouthy. I believe he’s not plott hound at all but instead a mix of black mouth cur and German shepherd. I think he may have allergies too as he was picking at his leg pits and paw pads often.
