Meet Rocco – 13 Years Young and Still Deserving of Love At 13 years old, Rocco should be enjoying his golden years in a comfortable bed with a full belly and someone looking out for him. Instead, circumstances beyond his control have left him without the person who cared for him, and now he needs our help. Rocco’s owner is hospitalized and unable to care for him, and her son cannot take on that responsibility. After a concerned neighbor contacted us, we discovered Rocco had been fending for himself for several days, eating from the trash and coming and going through an open door. Despite his circumstances, Rocco appears to be in reasonably good health overall. He does have cataracts and some lumps along his underside that need veterinary evaluation. But don't count this old gentleman out just yet! He happily crunched his way through a large Milk-Bone, proving he still has an appetite for the good things in life! We know senior dogs can be harder to place, but Rocco deserves a chance to spend his remaining years feeling safe, comfortable, and loved. We are looking for a foster, adopter, or senior-dog rescue willing to give him a soft place to land. Rocco didn't choose these circumstances, and we don't want them to define his final chapter. He deserves a full belly, a cozy bed, and someone who cares. Let's make Rocco's golden years truly golden! If you can help this sweet senior, please contact Chester County Animal Control. If you can't foster or adopt, sharing his story could help us find the person who can.
