Some rescue puppies come into the world with difficult stories already written for them. Toe Bean is one of the lucky ones. He was born into rescue, which means he has never known what it is to be hungry, abandoned, frightened, or left to fend for himself. His world has always included a devoted mama, full bellies, soft bedding, gentle hands, safety, and love. And now this beautiful little boy is ready for the next chapter: finding a family who will continue the wonderful beginning he's been given. Toe Bean is an adorable little fellow with a predominantly light-colored coat, broad white markings across both shoulders, floppy ears, and two wonderfully different eyes: his right eye is brown, and his left eye is blue! And personality? Well, this little fellow has plenty of it! Toe Bean is curious, confident, adventurous, and just a little bit spicy. He's an enthusiastic explorer who approaches his expanding world with the sort of puppy determination that makes us laugh. He's affectionate and enjoys human attention, but he also has an independent, inquisitive streak that makes watching him discover new things an absolute delight. He's only beginning to show us who he'll become, but he's already off to a terrific start! THE STORY OF MAMA MISSY AND THE BEAN POD SQUAD Toe Bean's mama, Missy, is a beautiful, exceptionally sweet Beagle mix rescued from beneath an abandoned house, where she was at risk of flooding. She arrived at her foster home just hours before a major storm swept through East Texas. Safe at last, she welcomed her puppies into the world on September 6, surrounded by warmth, comfort, and loving care. Mama Missy is a petite, approximately 28-pound girl with a wonderfully gentle, affectionate personality. Despite her adorable Beagle appearance, she's remarkably quiet by nature. Toe Bean is one of her six surviving puppies, affectionately known as the Bean Pod Squad! We suspect their father was an Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler), but his identity has not been confirmed through DNA testing. Breed identification is an educated guess based on appearances and physical characteristics, not a verified genetic determination. A HAPPY LITTLE BEAN The Bean Pod Squad is a remarkably happy, confident, affectionate bunch. Lovingly handled and socialized since birth, they're comfortable with human attention and eager to participate in whatever is happening around them. They love exploring, playing together, investigating their surroundings, and climbing all over their foster mama whenever possible. And Toe Bean? He's particularly curious and energetic, with a confident personality and an unmistakable spark of puppy spunk! He's eager to investigate, participate in the action, and discover what adventures each day might bring. His personality will continue developing as he grows. We won't pretend to know everything about the dog he'll become. What we can tell you is that he's being raised with patience, affection, appropriate boundaries, and opportunities to learn about the world. That's a pretty wonderful foundation for a lifetime companion. GROWING UP WITH GOOD HABITS These puppies have been doing beautifully with their nighttime routine, generally settling down while the household rests and waking ready for another day of important puppy business. Of course, they're still babies! Their families should expect normal puppy adjustments, including interrupted nights, teething, chewing, supervision, and patient training. Toe Bean is NOT housetrained. At his age, he hasn't developed the physical maturity or training needed for reliable house manners. His adopter will need a consistent potty-training routine and an understanding that accidents are normal. He is growing up alongside his littermates, but continued positive socialization with people, appropriate dogs, and new experiences will be important. HOW BIG WILL THIS LITTLE BEAN GET? Toe Bean weighed 7.4 pounds on October 20, 2026, at approximately six and a half weeks old. His mama weighs approximately 28 pounds, and his suspected father is an Australian Cattle Dog. We expect Toe Bean to mature into a small-to-medium or medium-sized dog. Exact adult size cannot be guaranteed with a mixed-breed puppy. For now, he's an adorable, mismatched-eyed bundle of puppy charm with plenty of growing left to do! HEALTH & VACCINATIONS Toe Bean received his first puppy vaccinations on October 20, 2026, at approximately six weeks of age. He has also received deworming treatment. He will continue receiving age-appropriate veterinary care while in foster care, including vaccinations required for transportation. His adopter is responsible for completing his remaining puppy vaccination series and fulfilling the veterinary and spay/neuter requirements in the adoption agreement. Toe Bean is not yet neutered because of his young age. ADOPTION & NEXT STEPS LOCAL ADOPTION AVAILABLE NOW!
