About Smudge

Smudge is a natural charmer. Just ask him to sit and he will plant himself right in front of you, tipping his face up and holding your gaze, as if anticipating the next command. This young black and white boy boasts a striking white stripe down his face, a big white bib, and a sprinkle of black freckles across his muzzle. Around one to two years old, Smudge arrived at Petersburg Animal Care and Control as a stray, and since then, he's left quite the impression. Everyone who meets Smudge agrees on one thing: he’s a genuinely nice dog. He’s friendly with both people and other dogs, walks well on a leash, and even knows a few commands. Right now, he’s got a bit of bounce, typical for a young dog, and he would thrive in a home that encourages daily walks and continued training. While we're still getting to know him, we cannot confirm how he behaves around cats or children just yet. If you're interested in meeting this delightful companion, we encourage scheduling an appointment for a meet and greet. The shelter welcomes visits Monday through Friday from 12pm to 4pm, with possible appointments outside those hours based on volunteer availability. A quick email to adoptpetersburg@gmail.com can set up a visit or provide more information. Give Smudge the chance he deserves. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
