About Petra
Meet Petra, a beautiful German Shepherd mix, searching for her forever home. At around five years old, Petra is ready to embrace a new chapter filled with love and adventure. We have seen her get along well with other dogs, and while she didn't show much interest in the cats at the shelter, her compatibility with them hasn’t been fully tested. If there are felines in your home, we can guide you on a successful introduction. Currently living in a foster home in the Washington, DC area, Petra is also undergoing heartworm treatment, which is fully supported by Lucky Dog Animal Rescue. This condition is not contagious to people or other pets and, once treated, she can lead a full and vibrant life again. Although heartworm treatment requires some calm time, Petra is eager to return to her playful self! Petra dreams of cozy resting spots, delightful walks, and fun park adventures with her new humans. She’s looking for someone to share her life with and hopes to make pup pals along the way. Given her lovely personality, she's ready to shower you with affection. Let’s make Petra’s next chapter her best one yet! What are you waiting for? Apply today!
