About Maverick
Maverick is a sweet and handsome 10-month-old Great Pyrenees and Golden Retriever mix. His previous family, facing unexpected life changes, decided it was best for him to find a new home where he can truly thrive. Maverick is incredibly playful and affectionate. He currently shares his space with 12 other dogs at the Sanctuary, happily getting along with all of them. His best friend is a lovely female Great Pyrenees, and together they can play inside and outside for hours. He’s also friendly with the resident cat and barn cats. Due to his size and energetic nature, Maverick would thrive in a home with older children who can engage with him in play and training. He’s learning basic commands like "sit," "no," and is making progress with "stay" and "come." He is crate-trained and appears to be house trained, doing well when left out at night. A crate is recommended if you’re away during the day, and a fenced yard will be necessary for his safety. Maverick is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and heartworm negative.
