About Payton

Payton is a sweet boy ready to steal your heart. Born in January 2022, he was raised alongside eight siblings. DNA testing shows he’s mostly a mix of Pit Bull and Shepherd, though he was initially listed as a Jack Russell and Lab mix. Payton thrives in a home with older children and a canine companion to play with, as he does not get along with cats. A fenced yard is ideal for him to safely burn off some energy. Though a bit timid around men initially, he warms up quickly with treats and gentle patience. He’s been neutered and vaccinated, microchipped, and has tested negative for heartworms. Give him love, and he'll be your lifelong guardian. Note: To adopt, you must live within about 100 miles of our adoption sites in Benld or Springfield, IL, and be at least 18 years old.
