Meet Buddy! He is a 10-year-old tricolor male Beagle, weighing 44 lbs. Previously, he was likely used for hunting. Unfortunately, he was surrendered to a shelter due to a severe injury—his ACL was torn and had been for some time. Following surgery, he's recovering well and increasingly using his leg. Buddy has also been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Buddy is easygoing but exhibits some dominance, confidently establishing himself as the head of the pack. He doesn't guard food from humans but can be possessive around other dogs. Feeding him separately is best. He enjoys running and playing outside, and as his muscle mass increases, he's growing stronger. After his walks, he will often lie at your feet while you watch TV. At mealtimes, he waits patiently on the floor for his food. Surprisingly, he’s not a fan of the special treats like eggs and green beans! At night, Buddy sleeps in his kennel and rarely ventures out until morning. He might even wake you with sweet sloppy kisses. Completely house-trained, he understands the command "outside" and is eager to explore. He interacts well with strangers in public and is calm and friendly. Although he enjoys being an only dog, he wouldn’t mind a canine buddy of similar size. He tends to ignore cats. Buddy is your ideal companion—loving, smart, and absolutely charming.
