About Rip

Rip is an extra-large, extra-cute dog ready to leave the stressful shelter life behind. This sweet boy came to us alongside another dog when his owner could no longer care for them. He's a total foodie, enjoying all the tasty treats and snacks donated to APL. While he gobbles his food quickly, a slow feeder would help him enjoy mealtime more. With his impressive 91 lbs., Rip is a fantastic walker on a leash and knows commands like sit, shake, and come. He initially seems a bit awkward with new dog friends but quickly becomes friendly and happy. He is gentle when meeting cats and has lived happily with older children. Due to his past, Rip may require a heavy-duty crate, as he has broken his kennel at the shelter, hinting at possible separation anxiety. He could thrive in a doggy-daycare situation or in a home where someone is often around to keep him company. Your new best friend is just one click away.
