SOMEBODY HAS LEFT A THREE-MONTH-OLD IRISH DIVORCE AT THE STRAY CAFE, AND HE IS NOT HANDLING THE SEPARATION WELL. His name is ROSCO MCGILLIGUDDY, and he is a 17-pound Schnauzer/Blue Cattle Dog mix who looks like he owns a failing pub in County Cork, owes three men money, and has been banned from entering the premises of his second ex-wife. HE WAS BORN THREE MONTHS AGO. LOOK AT THIS MAN. He has the eyebrows of someone who has personally witnessed the collapse of the fishing industry and the beard of a gentleman who knows exactly where the bodies are buried. WHY DOES THIS INFANT LOOK LIKE HE HAS TESTIFIED BEFORE CONGRESS? And unfortunately, Rosco is currently at the Take Paws Stray Cafe, where he is scared and would very much appreciate being removed from the premises. Because despite looking like a man who could negotiate a hostage release over a pint of Guinness, ROSCO IS ACTUALLY A TINY, SWEET, CUDDLY BABY. The beard is a lie. The eyebrows are propaganda. THERE IS NO TOUGH GUY UNDER THERE. JUST A LITTLE POTATO WHO WANTS TO BE HELD. He's not ready to run a pub. He's not prepared to settle a land dispute. He has absolutely no business being left to navigate the complexities of rescue life when he should be asleep on somebody's couch, dreaming about cheese. And frankly, we're concerned. He's already requested a meeting with management, questioned the Cafe's retirement benefits, and asked whether the establishment has been inspected by the Irish Department of Agriculture. SIR. YOU ARE A PUPPY. PLEASE STOP ASKING ABOUT THE PENSION. Rosco needs a foster or adopter who can help him feel safe, give him the cuddles he desperately wants, and let him experience the childhood his spectacularly elderly face suggests he skipped entirely. FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED THROUGH TAKE PAWS RESCUE! Somebody please come get Rosco McGilliguddy. HE LOOKS LIKE HE'S BEEN THROUGH THREE RECESSIONS, TWO DIVORCES, AND A CUSTODY BATTLE OVER A FISHING BOAT. HE IS THREE MONTHS OLD AND STILL NEEDS SOMEONE TO EXPLAIN WHAT A STAIRCASE IS. PLEASE GET THIS LITTLE MAN A FAMILY BEFORE HE STARTS CHARGING THE OTHER DOGS RENT. PLEASE READ BELOW: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to complete an application and read all of our FAQs: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt Please note: Information to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. *An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application* All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info will be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the high volume of introductions/questions received we ask you to submit an application (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue). The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. For more on this, or for additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets (including an explanation about Benefactor Dogs), please see our FAQs page: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as our website, Chewy, Pet Finder, and others. These are in no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed. ***Take Paws Rescue, based in New Orleans, saves dogs from high-kill shelters across the South, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it's the perfect match!
