MEET TEDDY BEAR - 135+ POUNDS OF PURE LOVE! Teddy Bear is the kind of dog who makes you wonder how anyone could ever let him go! This handsome, approximately 5-year-old Great Dane is a big, goofy, slightly clumsy lovebug who thinks he's a lap dog. His favorite things? His people, cuddling, tennis balls, and long naps on the couch! Teddy Bear has mastered the art of getting attention. He'll tuck his enormous head under your hand, nudge you for pets, rest his cheek against yours, or attempt to climb into your lap. And if you share your bed, be prepared for 135 pounds of snuggles! He absolutely LOVES playing fetch and has been incredibly gentle and affectionate with the 2- and 4-year-old children in his foster home. He's also housebroken, crate trained, knows basic commands, walks well in a harness, and rides nicely in the car. Teddy Bear does need a special home. While he generally likes other dogs, he struggles with sharing his favorite person so Teddy Bear would love being the only dog getting attention. Teddy Bear has made incredible progress physically! He arrived needing significant TLC, has gained weight, and continues to get healthier. He does have a perineal hernia that is currently managed with diet, although surgery may be needed in the future. He also has a few masses being monitored by his veterinary team. His adopter will need to be committed to his ongoing medical care. And one funny little detail? Teddy Bear needs his bottom wiped after potty breaks. Thankfully, he stands patiently and waits for his cleanup like a perfect gentleman! If you have room in your heart and on your couch for this gentle giant, apply to adopt Teddy Bear at ricopetrecovery.org. Adoption fee is $200 Please share to help Teddy Bear find his forever home!
