Meet Ace – The 60-Pound Love Bug Who Just Wants to Belong! 1.5 years old - Approximately 60 lbs - Dog-friendly - Cat-friendly - Kid-friendly Some dogs have a rough start in life, but somehow, they never lose their ability to love. Ace is one of those special dogs. At just a year and a half old, Ace had already experienced the heartbreak of being forgotten. He was found at a gas station in the South Texas/Mexico area, where employees told us he had been hanging around for weeks. Nobody came looking for him. Nobody claimed him. He simply laid by the door, hoping someone might welcome him inside or offer him a little kindness. Employees would toss food onto the sidewalk, but he had no food bowl, no soft place to sleep, and no family to call his own. Then one day, everything changed. A wonderful Samaritan named Gloria spotted Ace at that very gas station. The moment she stepped out of the car, Ace came running over, eagerly soaking up every bit of love and affection she offered. He desperately wanted to get into the car, and when Gloria opened the door, he didn't hesitate. He hopped right in, ready for whatever adventure came next. And just like that, this boy's life took a turn for the better. Gloria is now fostering Ace while we search for the forever family he has always deserved. And let us tell you... Ace is something special! This boy is incredibly smart, affectionate, eager to please, and absolutely charming. When you meet him, don't be surprised if he immediately starts showing off his tricks to impress you! He knows how to sit, lie down, give his paw, and hand out kisses. He has wonderful manners and seems to genuinely enjoy making his people happy. Ace is the kind of dog who wants to be included in everything. He loves people of all ages and sizes, including children, and he fit right into his foster home from day one. He gets along beautifully with other dogs and has even been cat-tested, doing wonderfully with the kitties! He's playful, too! Ace loves to run, play, and show off his adorable zoomies. Water is another favorite. Bring out a kiddie pool, and this boy is ready to jump right in! Car rides? Absolutely! Just open the door and Ace is ready to hop in and go wherever life takes him. He appears to be both house-trained and crate-trained, making him an even more wonderful addition to a family. Personality-wise, Ace is more of a follower than an alpha. He's sweet, easygoing, and submissive by nature. He isn't looking to be the boss; he just wants to be part of the family, have fun, and share his love. What would Ace's dream home look like? An active family who enjoys life as much as he does! He would thrive with children, another playful dog, and a securely fenced yard where he can run, explore, and burn off some of that happy puppy energy. Having a canine companion would be a wonderful bonus, as Ace truly enjoys playing with other dogs. But more than anything, Ace needs a family who will love him unconditionally and never make him wonder where he belongs again. It's hard to understand how a dog this loving, well-mannered, and wonderful could have been left waiting outside a gas station for weeks. We know Ace belonged to someone at some point, but nobody ever came forward to claim him. Their loss will be another family's greatest blessing. Ace has already shown us how much love he has to give. Now it's his turn to experience what it feels like to have a family who chooses him every single day. He doesn't need to sleep outside hoping someone will notice him anymore. He doesn't need to wonder if anyone is coming back for him. He just needs someone to open their heart and their home. This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily.
