About Oso

Meet Oso! This 2-year-old, 56-pound Shepherd/Rottweiler mix is a gentle giant with a heart of gold. With a serious expression that softens with love, Oso has spent most of his life in a sanctuary in South Texas since arriving there as a tiny puppy with his siblings. Despite being overlooked, he remains sweet, affectionate, and playful. Oso thrives around other dogs and would benefit from a canine sibling or opportunities to socialize at dog parks. He adores toys and has a knack for testing their durability—durable toys will need to be a priority in his new home! Water play is one of his favorite activities, so a family that enjoys outdoor adventures would be a perfect fit. Oso has a charming tap dance he performs during mealtimes, getting excited over food and treats. He is crate-trained and mostly house-trained, making him a wonderful addition to any family. Oso would thrive with older children who understand how to interact with larger dogs. This sweet boy has a lot to offer: a loving heart, playful spirit, and a penchant for cuddles. If you’re looking for a lovable companion who can be playful one moment and a gentle giant the next, Oso might just be the dog for you. He deserves a loving forever home after all this time. Isn't it time Oso found his family?
