About Onyx

Meet Onyx! Some dogs wear their hearts on their sleeves, and Onyx is no different. His past remains a mystery, but it's evident that life has taught him to be cautious. Trust doesn't come quickly for him, and that’s perfectly okay. Onyx is searching for a family that understands that meaningful relationships take time and patience. When he meets new people or dogs, Onyx prefers to observe first before he decides to engage. This thoughtful approach means that once you earn his trust, you'll find a loyal companion ready to stand by your side. Ideally, he would thrive as the only dog in a home, but he can accept another dog with slow, careful introductions that help him feel secure. Because he is still building confidence, he’ll do best in a home with children older than 8. This handsome boy is full of surprises. He enjoys his daily walks and patiently sits for his leash before heading out. Onyx is crate trained, possesses excellent house manners, and he is eager to please. He knows commands like sit, shake, leave it, and more, taking treats gently from your hand. While relaxing, you can find him happily chewing on a bone or discovering his toys. Watching Onyx learn to enjoy the simple things in life has been rewarding for his foster family. Onyx doesn't need saving—he needs someone to believe in him. He needs a family that will take the time to forge a bond, celebrating small victories along the way. If you're looking for a loyal best friend and are ready to give him the patience he deserves, you’ll welcome a love unmatched. His future is bright, waiting for the family to show him what forever really means. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
