About Kota
Kota is a 1-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix with a sharp mind and outgoing nature. Weighing about 65 pounds, he's the most energetic of his litter, yet a bit more reserved than his brother Tug. He thrives with active, outdoorsy people who want a companion ready for adventureāwhether that's hiking, running, or just spending hours outside. Kota loves people thanks to plenty of human attention from an early age and is working hard on his leash manners. He'll sit on command and makes great eye contact, picking up on direction quickly. Most of Kotaās personality leans towards the Lab: friendly, soft, and people-focusedābut thereās a smart Shepherd streak too. Staff note he's particularly responsive to confident handlers and would do best with someone ready to take charge and give him consistent, positive guidance. Kota gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playing in group settings. He does well with children aged 8 or older and appreciates a home where he isnāt left alone for long stretchesāhe bonds deeply when given time and attention. This boy is house trained, keeps his kennel clean, and has good recall off leash. Kotaās webbed feet suggest heāll be a natural swimmer if given the chance. He is currently in Bandera, TX and can be adopted locally or transported to several locations along the east and north. He's looking for a family ready to invest in continued training and a lifelong friendship. Click apply to start the adoption process.
