About Maddie

Introducing Maddie AKA Maddie Moo Maddieโ€™s daily schedule involves shifting into 4-wheel-low, tucking her butt like a startled shrimp, and seeing if she can hit light speed across our office floor. If you are standing in her path, congratulations: you are about to receive a 47-pound flying tackle of pure, undiluted love. Her smile doesn't just show teethโ€”it consumes her entire face, dislocates her tongue, and sends shockwaves through her entire torso. Letโ€™s talk about the satellite dishes. Her left ear pops straight up to monitor air traffic, the right ear flops down like a deflated pancake, and together they possess a 100% success rate at ruining your bad mood. Maddie recently found herself at the shelter after being owner surrendered following an incident with the male dog in her previous home. She was in heat at the time, and her former family reported that this behavior was unusual for her. She had previously done well living with the other dogs in the home. After formal, professional dog-dog assessments by our staff, we have determined that Maddie is NOT dog-friendly and should be the only dog in the home. Her play style is also too rough to place her into a home with small children, as she is easily excitable and has very mouthy play. We are working with her on this and attempting to redirect her to appropriate toys, and while she has made some progress, we still recommend a home with no small children to ensure everyone's safety. Leash Skills: Maddie is currently convinced every walk is an Olympic sled-pulling event. She will need a patient handler to teach her that the mailboxes aren't going anywhere. Hobbies: Squeaky toys, high-value treats, light-speed zoomies, and demanding all the attention in the room. Maddie is young and still learning. She'll need training, consistency, patience, and structure as she learns how to put her very best paw forward. In return, you're likely to get an enthusiastic, affectionate, hilarious companion who will make sure your home is never boring again. She's looking for her people โ€” people willing to help her learn, give her boundaries, celebrate her progress, and appreciate the glorious disaster that is a young dog discovering how to be the best version of herself.
