About Girlfriend

Girlfriend A188542 48 lb. spayed female, approx 2 years old -She was happy and bouncing all over the place on our way to the yard. Once we got there, she immediately wanted paws up in my lap soaking up pets and attention. After a couple of minutes, she decided that wasn't quite enough and started trying to climb even higher. Before long, she was ALL the way in my lap with all four feet! 😆 She gives lots of kisses and clearly loves being close to her people. -She likes treats, knows "sit," and takes them nicely. She didn't show much interest in toys, but who needs toys when there are people to love on? -Inside, I sat down on the floor, and she came barreling right into my lap before flipping over for belly rubs. She gets so excited that she practically thrashes around with happiness, then pops up and does some zoomies. She's a fun, affectionate girl with a whole lot of love to give! -Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids *Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt *Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. *Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. *There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. *To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** *The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30, except for Wednesday when we open at 11:30 **We ask that if you're looking to adopt, you arrive before 5:00 to be able to have enough time to meet the dog. **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
