About Ozzie

Ozzie is a radiant 9-year-old Miniature Australian Shepherd, weighing in at 20 pounds. Her bubbly personality shines through her independent nature; she loves to explore a backyard, savor a good bone, or simply retreat to her favorite cozy spot. While affectionate, Ozzie values her space, content to greet you and then pursue her own adventures. With a high energy level, Ozzie thrives in open spaces where she can run and dig. She's friendly with people and great around children, as well as sociable with the dogs she's met. Even though she tends to be low in the pack hierarchy, she can assert herself when necessary. Ozzie knows commands like sit and come and heads into her crate when asked. Ideally, she would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard instead of an apartment. Ozzie does occasionally pull on the leash, and her house-training needs some ongoing attention. She has shown a tendency to limp after prolonged activities due to an old leg issue, which has been manageable lately. It’s recommended to keep an eye on her during play. Her backstory is heart-wrenching. Initially gifted by her daughter following a family tragedy, she now seeks a new family who will cherish her adventurous spirit and love of the outdoors. Ozzie deserves to find a home where she can flourish and be appreciated for her joyful disposition. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
