About Bernie

Bernie is ready to find his forever home! Once an overlooked shelter stray, he’s transformed from a shy pup to a smart, goofy, loveable boy. Previously known as Dugan, he was rescued from Brevard County Animal Shelter, where he arrived as a stray, noticeably underweight, and received little attention. Now almost a year old and weighing around 24 lbs, this Pittie/Lab mix is heartworm negative and cat friendly. Bernie is extremely smart and treat motivated, ready to learn new commands like “place,” “break,” and “off.” His progress with potty training shows just how eager he is to please. With a sprightly personality and a knack for making you laugh, Bernie needs a loving home that will continue his training journey and offer the stability he craves. He’s affectionate and playful, making him a perfect companion for any family. This handsome black beauty has so much love to give. Let’s ensure he’s never overlooked again.
