About CanelaWA

Meet Canela, a brave soul on a journey from fearful to fearless, now thriving at Conroe Creature Refuge. When she first arrived, Canela was a shy girl who would often hide her face and tuck her tail to escape her fears. Fast forward to today, and she actively seeks out affection, loves being in the spotlight, and has made strides in discovering the kindness and comfort humans can offer. Canela is not only affectionate but also eager to please, especially with the help of treats that motivate her learning. She's made remarkable progress in building her confidence and social skills. Here’s what you should know about Canela: she does well with dogs of all sizes, but introductions may need a gentle touch. She’s friendly with cats and has a good track record with kids, too. While she continues to improve her leash manners, her journey isn't entirely over; she still needs a patient adopter who understands that some moments might bring back her instinct to flee. Canela would thrive in an active home or an apartment as long as she gets regular walks and social interactions. Ultimately, it's the patience and support from her adoptive family that will help her flourish. Canela’s ready to find someone who will reassure her that the world is filled with kindness. Are you ready to be part of her next chapter?
