About Lincoln

Meet Lincoln! Lincoln is a captivating German Shepherd mix with an inspiring story. Rescued with three other adult dogs from a cemetery in Compton, California, he arrived in foster care last May, fearful of the world around him. It’s likely that he spent most of his life outdoors with limited human interaction, and some of his early encounters after rescue were unfortunately negative. However, his foster family has dedicated themselves to showing him that people can be wonderful, especially when they bring his favorite things! Today, Lincoln is a joyful and playful dog! He thrives on playing chase with his foster sisters, exploring new environments, and even running on the treadmill. His talent for catching treats is impressive, making him a real champ in that department. Lincoln has shown a strong preference for confident dogs with social skills, and having a savvy canine companion in his forever home would greatly benefit his continued confidence-building journey. Currently in foster care with a professional dog trainer, Lincoln has made significant progress learning to trust people and navigate daily life. He is great in his wire crate, rides well in the car, and even attended a training workshop in California! While basic obedience is the next goal, Lincoln is incredibly sweet and affectionate once he learns to trust. His ideal family will provide the time, space, and patience he needs to feel safe and secure. This special boy has come a long way and is now ready for a family that loves him for who he truly is.
