Ladies and gentlemen, meet GREER — a gorgeous Chocolate Labrador Retriever with soulful eyes, a heart of gold, and a personality that’s sweeter than a box of chocolates! And unlike chocolate, this handsome boy is absolutely GOOD for you! Greer’s story didn’t begin with cozy dog beds, squeaky toys, or a family who loved him. Instead, he was surviving alone on the unforgiving streets of Houston, Texas. When Greer finally wandered up to a local business warehouse, he was painfully thin, hungry, thirsty, exhausted, and desperately in need of help. His skin was in terrible condition from dermatitis, likely caused by a flea infestation. It was obvious this poor boy had been struggling to survive for quite some time. Thankfully, some wonderful Good Samaritans recognized that Greer needed help and reached out to our rescue. And just like that, Greer’s luck began to change! Fast-forward to today, and this handsome chocolate gentleman is making a wonderful comeback! Greer has been vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for his dermatitis. His skin has improved tremendously and continues to heal beautifully. He’s also receiving regular flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. But the BEST part? Despite everything he’s been through, Greer absolutely LOVES people! Apparently, nobody told him that humans were the reason he ended up homeless in the first place, because this boy has decided that EVERYONE is his new best friend! And if those new best friends happen to offer affection, belly rubs, or treats? Well, that’s just excellent customer service. GREER’S IMPRESSIVE RÉSUMÉ: Fully potty trained! He understands that bathrooms belong outside. Kennel trained! He knows the routine and is comfortable in his kennel. Dog friendly with the right introductions! Greer has a confident, somewhat dominant personality and can be a bit of an enthusiastic humper. He needs very slow, thoughtful introductions and would likely do best with a calm, submissive female canine companion. Leash trained! He walks reasonably well, although occasionally his excitement gets the better of him and he forgets that humans don’t have four-wheel drive. Medium energy! He enjoys activity and adventures but doesn’t require a full-time personal trainer. People lover extraordinaire! Greer absolutely adores human attention and affection.
