About Luna in New England
Meet Luna in New England. This gentle golden retriever/black lab mix is about two years old and weighs around 70 pounds. At first, she may seem a little shy, particularly towards men, but once she warms up, she can be your best friend. Luna's journey has not been the easiest; she came close to being euthanized for a past chicken incident. Thankfully, she found her way to a loving foster home where she’s blossoming. Her foster dad reports that while she enjoys her walks, she’s shown little interest in chasing wildlife like turkeys, suggesting a calmer demeanor. Luna has had positive interactions with older children, particularly a 14-year-old grandson in her foster home. She tends to be exuberant, so a home with older kids who understand her size would be ideal. While she’s not fond of being crated, she manages just fine being left alone for several hours, remaining calm and relaxed. A quieter environment would suit her well, and though she doesn’t need a canine companion, she may enjoy having one to play with occasionally. If your household is a good match, you might just find Luna to be the affectionate snuggler you’ve been waiting for. Golden Huggs Rescue only adopts to adults over 25, so consider if Luna could be the new addition to your family. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
