Shelby
AvailableShelby is a 12-year-old spayed female mixed breed dog, weighing in at a medium size. She has a lovely yellow coat and is house trained. Shelby is looking for a home in Rockaway, NJ, and deserves a second chance after being returned to the rescue. She is still developing her confidence and needs a gentle touch.
About Shelby
Shelby is a sweet, slightly shy dog looking for a fresh start after being returned to the shelter. Her previous owners cited anxiety and chewing as reasons for her return, but Shelby has shown great potential to blossom in a loving environment. Initially nervous, she warms up to new people, revealing her playful side. Shelby enjoys fetching her ball and brings it back, although she’s still learning to drop it. While she walks fairly well on a leash, she would benefit from some additional training. Shelby has a mixed history with other dogs; she does best with calm companions and gradual introductions. Having lived with children before, she might do well with respectful kids who understand her nervousness. After spending two years in a home, Shelby is feeling the effects of kennel life. If you think you could be the one to give her the love and support she needs, don’t hesitate to fill out an application to adopt or foster her.
