About Mari
After spending eight long years at the end of a chain, Mari has finally found her chance for freedom. She deserves a loving home where she will be cherished and treated as a vital part of the family for the rest of her life. Having waited so long for a change, we believe the next chapter can bring her the family she has always yearned for. At around 8 years old, Mari is gentle, sweet, and quiet. She is crate trained and has had no accidents in the house, though new adopters should continue with a regular schedule for outdoor breaks. She can be a bit timid with new people, often running away if she senses any trouble, so a fenced yard is essential. A home with older children or no children would be ideal, as the fast motions and loud noises can overwhelm her. Itโs important to note that she has never shown aggression toward humans; she simply takes her time to feel safe around new faces. Mari tends to approach people cautiously and will let them pet her, although quick movements might cause her to cower. Adopters should be prepared to provide her with the time and love she needs to build confidence away from her past life. She does get along with other dogs, although she remains indifferent to playing. Mari enjoys simply being around other laid-back senior dogs rather than engaging with toys. This sweet girl is ready for her next adventure, and her joyful spirit is waiting to shine. Mari is in Picayune, MS, but she can be transported north once her adoption is finalized. Virtual meet and greets can be arranged via Zoom or Facebook Messenger for approved applicants. The adoption fee is waived for the perfect family. Veterinary references showing excellent care of previous pets will be required due to the distance involved. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
