Meet Benny! This handsome fluffy dude somehow found himself at a high-kill shelter in Houston, Texas. When volunteers met him and shared some ridiculously adorable pictures, they knew they had to save him. Thankfully, a foster family stepped up, and Benny was pulled just moments before his deadline. Benny is around five years old and weighs about 60 pounds, although he could stand to gain a few more. His best guess is that he’s a mix of Rottweiler and Chow Chow, and whatever he is, that combination is adorable. Benny adores humans of all kinds—men, women, kids, and strangers alike. He is currently fostered with a five-year-old, which he loves dearly. This dog is all about companionship. Benny has never met a personal space he respects; he’ll stand close by, waiting with his adorable smile for you to acknowledge him. Working from home? Prepare for your fluffy, slightly needy assistant to stay right beside you. Benny is on the lower-energy side. He’s beyond the puppy antics and prefers lounging and cuddling on the couch over high-energy play. Walks are still enjoyable for him, and he is great on a leash, responding well to commands. Even in the presence of distractions like squirrels, Benny quickly returns to focus if asked. When it comes to other dogs, Benny generally gets along well but can be a bit pushy.
