About Gertrude
Gertrude, affectionately known as Gertie, is a spirited 5-month-old Pit Bull Terrier mix weighing around 24 pounds. This sweet girl has already experienced many "firsts," from her first camping trip to her first snowflake. Having recovered from a serious injury, Gertie is now ready to discover even more adventures with her forever family. Surrendered after being hit by a car, Gertie's huge heart and loving nature quickly made her a favorite among the staff. Although her leg couldn’t be saved, she's adapted beautifully and learns quickly, mastering commands like sit and come. Gertie's a cuddly puppy who adores belly rubs and fits seamlessly into her surroundings. When not in her crate, she finds comfort under desks. Gertie is playful and enjoys the company of other dogs, happily engaging with playful pals. While she’s shown polite curiosity towards the cats in her foster home, we believe she'd do well with kids aged 8 and up. Prospective adopters should be ready for the joys of puppy training and socialization, as Gertie thrives with a structure that supports her lively spirit. With a solid routine and plenty of playdates, Gertie is sure to bring happiness to her new home. This sweet girl is up to date on her vaccines and preventatives. Watching puppies grow and thrive is rewarding, and the joy of finding them a loving home is unmatched. Gertie awaits her forever family in Portland, OR.
