About Butternut
Butternut is an 8-month-old spayed Terrier and Cattle Dog mix, currently weighing around 34 pounds. She’s eligible for our foster-to-adopt program and is looking for a forever home where she can thrive. Navigating city life, Butternut finds comfort in quieter settings, preferring to do her business in the privacy of a yard. Her foster notes that she’s an athletic sweetheart who loves to jump, play tug-o-war, and catch. Butternut does get a bit spooked by loud noises but is showing signs of adjusting with each outing. Still, she deserves a calmer home to help her settle. This medium-energy pup needs an intermediate owner who can provide her with structure and at least 90 minutes of daily activity, plus training and mental engagement. Butternut gets along with other dogs and is generally okay with children, but she’s best with those aged 12 and up due to her energetic nature. Understanding her cute but mouthy habits is crucial, as she loves to chew when bored, and she’s adjusting to being home alone. If you’re ready for an affectionate companion that’s willing to learn and grow with you, Butternut is eager to meet you! Click apply to start the adoption process.
