About Mari
After eight long years at the end of a chain, Mari is finally free! Her name, Mariposa, meaning “butterfly” in Spanish, feels perfect for a girl ready to fly into a new life. Mari was understandably scared at first, but it didn’t take long for her sweet personality to shine through. Within hours, she was exploring the yard, seeking affection, and relaxing in her crate with a soft bed and air conditioning. For a dog who’s known so little freedom, these moments are precious reminders of what it means to be safe and loved. Her journey is just beginning. Mari deserves a home where she will be cherished as a beloved family member. After spending years in an unkind situation, she’s ready to embrace a family of her own. Can you help Mari spread her wings and discover her happily-ever-after? She currently resides in Mississippi and will be transported north once her adoption is finalized. Virtual meet-and-greets can be arranged via Zoom or Facebook Messenger for approved adopters. There are no transport fees, and the adoption fee is waived for the perfect home. Please note, we require veterinary references that show excellent care of previous or current pets due to the long-distance adoption process. Take the step to welcome Mari into your life.
