About Miss Elsa
Miss Elsa is a striking 4-year-old large mountain cur/Catahoula mix, weighing around 85 pounds, with icy blue eyes that stand out against her yellow and cream coat. She craves affection and stability, making her happiest when with her people or playing fetch in the yard—her ball goes everywhere with her. Elsa's energy and drive make her a natural fit for someone with an active lifestyle, and her strong prey drive means no cats or small animals in the home. She does fine with small dogs in her foster home but can get a bit overzealous, so she’s best matched with older children or teens and another large, active dog who enjoys rough-and-tumble play, or she can be content as a solo pet. Elsa is fully house and kennel trained, very quiet, and fearless—a true goofball with a gentle, loving side. She knows basic commands and wants to please, but due to her size and strength, she needs a handler comfortable managing a strong dog. Elsa’s past included neglect, but she’s healed physically and emotionally thanks to her foster family. She’s up to date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and currently undergoing slow-kill heartworm treatment (medications will be provided to her adopter). She needs a secure, fenced yard and a family committed to her for life. Apartments may be considered if there’s access to outdoor space. Elsa will thrive with someone ready to give her consistency, guidance, and lots of love. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
