About Orca
Orca is a delightful, quirky 3-year-old Australian Kelpie who’s flourishing in her foster home. This affectionate girl is house-trained and crate-trained, excelling in public places and during car rides. She's incredibly smart, knowing commands like sit, down, shake, and 'let's go,' and she's making progress on learning 'find it.' While she used to pull on the leash, she's quickly mastered walking nicely, showcasing her adaptability. At home, Orca is surprisingly laid-back, loving her naps and daily walks—especially when they involve lots of sniffing. Tennis balls, stuffed toys, belly rubs, and snuggles are her favorites. With her charming personality, she actively engages with her humans, even “purring” when she's petted. She's friendly with new people and has a lovely affectionate nature. However, due to her strong prey drive, Orca requires a home without cats or small animals. She can be reactive to dogs while on a leash but shows responsiveness to redirection. At the shelter, she was tolerant of larger dogs, making appropriate introductions key for any canine companions. Orca is looking for a home that fits her unique personality and needs. Orca (A5778591) is currently under the care of Shepherds Paws Animal Rescue in Agua Dulce, CA. Ready to make her a part of your family? Click apply to start the adoption process.
