Meet Whiskey! This sweet 6‑year‑old Australian Kelpie has a loyal heart and a gentle spirit. He grew up with a family and children ages 2–18, and they described him as wonderful with their kids. After six years, he was surrendered to a high‑kill shelter through no fault of his own. A private rescuer pulled him, but with no plan in place, he was dropped off with a senior woman already overwhelmed with rescued cats and dogs. She really cannot keep him, so a foster or an adoption is immediately sought. She cares deeply about himself well-being — when she reached her hand through the gate, he gently rested his head on her hand. He still wants to trust. Behavior & History His former family reported two nipping incidents with strangers or people he didn’t know well, and neither incident broke skin. One occurred when someone tried to stop him from running out the gate. This is a sensitive, intelligent working breed who was never given proper training or structure — not an aggressive dog.
