About Gunner
Meet Gunner! This handsome two-year-old boy boasts striking amber eyes and a fun, goofy personality that makes him irresistible. Gunner came to us after an elderly couple found his energy level hard to manage, but don’t worry—this Beagle/German Shorthaired Pointer mix is ready for a loving home! Currently fostered with Johanna, Gunner lives comfortably with her four dogs and two cats. He truly thrives in the company of other pets, making a playful canine companion a must in his ideal home. When he's not frolicking with his furry friends, he's content to relax on the couch, chew toys, or snuggle under the covers. Gunner shows excellent house manners. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and knows commands like sit and down. He takes corrections well and is learning to greet people without jumping. Out and about, he behaves nicely around other animals, and even enjoyed a recent trip to a brewery! Though he is confident and social, Gunner doesn’t mind sharing the spotlight. He might bark at wildlife or unexpected sounds, so a home that can accommodate that is ideal. While he may pull slightly on the leash, he’s easy to walk and will improve with practice. If you're looking for a well-mannered companion who gets along with dogs, cats, and children, Gunner could be the perfect fit. He's all set to come to the DC metro area on 11/7. Let’s welcome him home! What are you waiting for? Apply today!
