About Farley

Farley is a good-natured beagle/hound mix who enjoys the company of people and soaks up one-on-one time. He’s most comfortable as the only dog in the house, since he never learned to play with dogs and can be reactive on leash. Farley walks well on a harness, loves going for strolls in quiet areas without other dogs, and lights up at the chance for a swim. If you’ve got a fenced backyard, Farley will make the most of it and give you his full affection—he missed out on that freedom early in life, having spent years chained up and suffering a serious neck injury from an animal attack. He isn’t right for homes with cats or where dog park visits are a priority, but for adopters who want a single-dog companion to cuddle, he’s the perfect fit. Adoptions are only open to residents of the DC metro area, and meetings for Farley are arranged by appointment. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
