About Duke
Duke is a 4.5-year-old German Shepherd mix with a playful spirit. He keeps himself entertained by chasing bugs or tossing his toys in the air. This guy is both crate and house trained, and he'll sit for treats without hesitation. Duke walks well on a leash and has a love for playing ball. Heβs comfortable with older kids, but he's not a fan of being pulled or laid on, so a home with more respectful older children would be ideal. While Duke enjoys affection, he can exhibit resource guarding behaviors, making it best for him to be the only dog in the home or with an adopter who understands such behaviors. He tends to get along well with female dogs of his size or smaller; however, large dominant males are not a suitable match for him. Duke can be protective of his home, so a quieter environment with fewer strangers is preferable. He warms up to repeat guests, especially when introduced properly, and showcases friendliness while leashed during walks. If you want a loyal companion who adds joy to your life, Duke might be the one for you! Duke is located in Colleyville, TX, but he is available for adoption and transport out of state.
