About Freckles

Meet Freckles! This adorable 3-month-old girl is already making quite an impression. We believe she is an Australian Cattle Dog (Heeler) mix. Although she currently weighs about 8 pounds, don't let her size fool you; she's packed with energy and personality! Freckles didn't have the best start to life. She was sadly left in a cage outside our shelter, exposed to the sun. Thankfully, she’s safe now and has a sweet disposition despite her past. Like many Heelers, she's vocal, playful, and ready for adventure. Freckles requires a family that recognizes the energetic nature of her breed. Heelers thrive on exercise, mental stimulation, and training—they need someone who can help her grow into a well-mannered adult. She's still a puppy, so potty training, socialization, and learning boundaries will be part of this journey together. With the right commitment and love, Freckles promises to be a wonderful companion. Located in Gainesville, TX, Freckles can also connect with out-of-state adopters through FaceTime before adoption. Let’s ensure she finds a family that will make her feel truly wanted this time! Click apply to start the adoption process.
